MY story
Hi, I’m Jacqueline and I love makeup; applying it, wearing it, buying it, teaching it and anything else related to it.
I studied Makeup at a private college for a year in 2008 in which I learnt a lot about product, application and the industry. Although I enjoyed all elements, I quickly learnt as I started working at M.A.C that what I really love is making women feel their most beautiful. Working in retail for 4 years for such a successful company taught me so much about what makeup means to different people.
My dream was to work at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, as part of the M.A.C National Events Team and I am so happy for this dream to come true. Amongst this, other fashion jobs included was shows for designers such as Bec & Bridge, Rebecca Vallance, Lisa Ho & more, plus television jobs such as ‘The Voice’ and ‘Australia’s Next Top Model.’ Soon after, my freelance career was taking off and I took a leap of faith to work for myself, mainly specialising in bridal and special occasion makeup.
The decision to start a family prompted me to stop bridal parties, as I wanted to be dedicated full time to my family and didn’t want to compromise the quality of my work at home or with clients. I had a vision of teaching the everyday women how to do their makeup with a professional touch and with confidence, then Jacqarl Workshops was born and I’ve had the honour of facilitating workshops which have taught over 100 women.
Recently, a studio has now been set up at home as a sanctuary for anyone who books in for a makeup application.
